Harmen Liemburg (1966) originally trained as a cartographer. In search of a way to expand his possibilities for expression in the graphic field, Liemburg eventually studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and has worked as a graphic designer and screen printer since 1998, orienting himself towards the autonomous side of the profession.
For each project, he immerses himself in the visual aspects of a particular subject, including clichés or apparent trivia. The visual building blocks he collects in this way are often redrawn and adapted for the screen printing technique. During this process, the individual elements are given a new role and meaning by being combined in a poetic way. Each project is therefore a graphic exploration in itself, with which Liemburg continues to expand his playing field within visual and material culture.

SPOOR?
Spoor is a shared space
SPOOR stands at the crossroads between visual art and music, a space where musicians screen print, illustrators and designers exchange mix tapes and visual artists crawl out of the depths of the studio to shape an LP. SPOOR specializes primarily in screen printing. It is a laboratory for experiment, where connection, exchange and creation are central.
