Welcome to The Wild Stage, a transpass, a journey into our very own human nature. Hop on, hop off, dissect yourself, confront, sweat or burst in tears. Sweet temptations await. Are you going to fight or flight? 

Inspired by Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht’s Mahagonny Songspiel, oester presents a multilayered research into our human need for escapism. Aïda Gabriëls invites Casper Clausen (Efterklang, Liima), Timo Tembuyser, Baroque Orchestration X’s Jon Birdsong and Pieter Theuns and Adriaan de Roover for a musical research into escapism. Based on improvisation and experiments, they co-create musical compositions that evolve into a stream of soundscapes. Vocally led by Casper Clausen and Timo Tembuyser, The Wild Stage oscillates between pop, baroque and electronic music, between the contemporary and the classical. On stage they are joined by a trio of dancers. Together they create a kaleidoscopic sanctuary of encounters.

Within their artistic practice, oester aims for a creative density that allows transdisciplinary collaboration, inseparably interweaving choreography, music, bodies and space. All musical compositions, visuals and choreography are created together with the performers. 

The Wild Stage is all about descending into your own shadow and meeting yourself in the midst of the crowd. Are you in? Or are you out?
