The Halo Effect is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed by former members of In Flames and Dark Tranquility. Two of the pioneers and major forces behind 'The Gothenburg Sound'. A sound that would resonate around the world and influence countless metal bands in the 90s and early 2000s. This was also the original idea behind The Halo Effect: to go back to the roots and discover what the groundbreaking metal sounded like at the time. Add to that the experience and skills of what the members can now bring to the table and you have this raw and melodic experience.

This Finnish band is usually considered a melodic death metal group, but their fifth studio album 'Your Highness' also shows a more modern sound with elements of metalcore and alternative metal and, for the first time, also clean vocals.
