Kaicrewsade
Kaicrewsade – or Kai – is a 21-year-old artist from Chicago's West Side. He blends jazz, soul, and rap into a sound that is entirely his own.
Kai was introduced to jazz at a young age—and it has been a constant in his life ever since. The music of Herbie Hancock, Erykah Badu, and A Tribe Called Quest shaped the soundtrack of his childhood. Later, he discovered Chicago-based artists like Chance the Rapper, Noname, and Saba, which helped him build the foundation of his unique sound.
"Saba, Noname, Chance—I grew up with all that around me. Maybe if I didn’t sneak into the Chance The Rapper event when I was a kid, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing."
With a clear voice, dynamic performances, and a strong live band, Kaicrewsade is sure to leave a lasting impression.
