Fronted by Anouska Sokolow and supported by Tim Curtis on bass and Yuri Shibuici on drums Honeyglaze will easily become your new favourite band. The trio combines a playfully minimalistic sound with razor-sharp lyrics. Influential label Speedy Wunderground pick up the band, introducing them into the wonderful scene of London postpunk. Though sonically Honeyglaze rings a little more joyful and optimistic. Associations like Big Thief, Dry Cleaning and The Last Dinner Party arise quickly. Their latest new album features Sokolow’s staple sublime observational skills. A little deadpan, a little danceable. Honeyglaze coats the daily with a sweet and sticky layer.
