Calicos

The six-piece band Calicos will soon release their new album. They already gave a sneak peek with the release of 3 blissful songs to dream away with. Where their track 'Comedown' has already received a lot of praise. Since their previous album 'The Soft Launch', a lot has changed. Three new band members and a slightly different sound, but at the same time, not entirely. Calicos' sound oscillates between the alternative styles of Sharon Van Etten or Kurt Vile. This without losing their signature alt/country sound. Comparisons with Jonathan Wilson and – perhaps most of all – The War On Drugs remain valid, and feel free to add the epic 80s pop-rock of living legend Bruce Springsteen to that. The living proof; the brand-new singles ‘Comedown’, 'The Siren' and 'Reliving', a portion of exuberant alternative Americana: window down, arm out, volume all the way to the right, and enjoy cruising, that feeling.

Arend Delabie

Arend Delabie from Kortrijk is building his own musical career from his bedroom. One that will finally knock the door of that bedroom open with the release of his debut single at the end of November. With just a laptop, a handful of instruments and a nose for clever melodies, he delivers ingenious pop songs. His DIY indie feel is reminiscent of Beck, a Damon Albarn solo or the Canadian Homeshake.
