ABATTOIR ANVERS & FRIENDS
Abattoir Anvers & Friends will provide the best hip-hop tracks on Friday night. Glintsal, Yong Yello, Blu Samu, and Jazz Brak will pull you onto the dancefloor. What's at the heart of it all? Friendship and good vibes.
Glintsal
GLINTSAL is the collaborative project of rapper/singer Glints and producer/DJ FAISAL AKA. The duo, longtime best friends and co-hosts of the Belgian hip-hop show Abattoir Anvers on Studio Brussel, present their debut album 'GLINTSAL Vol. 1', offering an impressive mix of back-to-back bangers. Their sound is an eclectic fusion of influences, ranging from Anderson Paak and J Dilla to The Beatles and Daft Punk. After conquering Eurosonic in January and being nominated for five MIA awards, the duo is ready to take on festival stages and spread their unique sound even further.
Yong Yello
Yong Yello, the stage name of rapper and producer Yello Staelens, is a unique voice in Dutch-language music. He studied music production at the Ghent Conservatory and was nominated for 'Best Producer' at the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards. His debut album 'Marcel en het magnetisme van de goot' showcased his talent. Tracks like ‘Als Ge Slaapt’, ‘Waanzin’, and ‘Luchtkasteel’ put him on the map. Now, he continues to refine his sound and explore new musical directions.
BLU SAMU
Blu Samu has lived many lives, from Portugal to Brussels and a brief affair with Antwerp. As a poet and urban samurai, she tells her stories through an intuitive blend of hip-hop and soul. Her husky voice and love for words make her a unique force in the scene. Finding her place within the Brussels hip-hop family of Le 77 and Zwangere Guy, she quickly became one of the most exciting names in Belgian hip-hop. With a Red Bull Elektropedia Award for ‘Best Upcoming Urban Artist’ and explosive performances at festivals like Dour and Pukkelpop, Blu Samu continues to carve her own path.
JAZZ BRAK
Jazz Brak is a key figure in the Brussels hip-hop collective STIKSTOF, alongside Zwangere Guy, Astrofisiks, and DJ Vega. Following his debut album ‘BRAK,’ he now presents ‘AUTOFOCUS,’ offering an even more personal perspective on his family and future. Through sharp lyrics and keen observations, he envisions a future shaped by thoughtful dialogue and mutual respect—no bravado, just meaningful words. The album features collaborations with Treza, Peet, Romeo Elvis, Gandhi, and Emee.
