Low Emission Zone
As of 1 February 2017 the city of Antwerp will introduce a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) to fight air pollution. Trix is situated within that zone. Here are the most important things you should know before coming to Antwerp by car:
- All vehicles with a foreign (i.e. non-Belgian or non-Dutch) license plate must be registered with the City of Antwerp before they can enter the LEZ. Registration is free of charge.
- The most polluting vehicles will only be welcome in the city if you buy a LEZ day pass. The Euro norm of your vehicle determines whether it may enter the city with or without payment.
- A network op cctv cameras with license plate recognition will automatically check registration.Vehicles that do not fulfil the conditions will be fined.
Check and register your vehicle online. You will need your vehicle’s registration document.
You can find all information about the Low emission zone on the City Council website.
