Female Takeover curates film programme at Ongehoord Kort
On September 24, you can see our Artist in Residence Female Takeover on the big screen in Cinema Cartoon's. They curate the musical programme of the short film festival Ongezien Kort, called Ongehoord Kort.
This exhibition of images focuses on the different roles that a woman occupies and fulfills within a creative process, ranging from choreographer, director, writer, creator. Most of these roles were for a long time performed and trusted exclusively to male figures, so that in most languages there is not even a female variant of the word. Over the years, change has begun to occur here and we would like to be a part of that.
Women are today strongly represented within the creative sector worldwide, but there remains a major imbalance in the amount of professional positions held by women. That is why we like to show through various short works, various performances by women, for everyone.
Female Takeover will be present after the screening for a Q&A.

About Ongezien Kort
Ongezien Kort is an initiative that stimulates visual culture in Antwerp by offering talented, unknown makers a platform to show their short film to an audience.
During their annual festival, Ongezien Kort selects interesting short films that have not yet been screened widely and have remained under the radar. They have no restrictions in terms of genre, style, medium or content so that they can program experimental films alongside, for example, locally shot gangster films. This way, they bring a unique mix to give the general public a taste of all the great things short films have to offer.
